RainBarrel shows you the likelihood of precipitation in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania region based on historical weather data collected over the past 100 years. The app was built using the private beta of Adobe Flash CS5. A big thanks to Aditya Bansod, Mike Chambers and the rest of the Adobe team, Rob Hall, and Monica Gursky for the lovely icon.

A few weeks back, I had the awesome opportunity to present at FlashCamp Philly on the topic of Papervision3D and the process we used to create a piece for the Pennsylvania Film Office. The talk focused on the techniques we discovered to speed PV3D development and coordinate between myself in Adobe Flash and the designer, Jon Elison, in Adobe Photoshop.

Here’s the video from my presentation at IgnitePhilly 4 on October 13, 2009. Overall I think I came across pretty well. Some of my slides were hard to see, which I equate to Power Point’s unyielding quest to screw me. But people still laughed when expected, and there were even some nice audience interjections at certain points.

I’m happy to announce that I’ll be presenting at next week’s Ignite Philly. The event is composed of a handful of rapid-fire presentations, each only 5 minutes long with each slide limited to 15 seconds. The speakers I’m presenting with are a bit intimidating, especially with this as my first Ignite presentation. Film In PA launches

Little behind on posting this, but @RedTettemer launched FilmInPA.com, a site featuring the great state of Pennsylvania’s tax credits for filmmakers. 30th Birthday Party

While we missed the final contention for the Webbie Award’s Best Home / Welcome Page, RedTettemer.com is an Honoree in the category. This is the second Webbie Award Honoree redtettemer.com has received since launch, the first nab in 2008 for Portfolio Site. They only started listing the Honorees on the site this year, so if you don’t believe me you’ll have to stop by the office in order to verify that one. One Show Nominates Groundhog Dreams

Walked into work Friday to find groundhogdreams.com had been nominated for the 2009 One Show in the category of Non-broadcast campaign (11B). Pretty good way to start a day. We’re in the “First Cut” against Wieden, JWT, Mother, Fallon, and Publicis. Also representing Philadelphia in the “First Cut” are my friends over at Stick & Move with a :30 they produced for Leatherman. 160over90 also got a nod or two in the Design Finalists. Congrats to all.

We produced this site for our friends at Ska Brewery. A combination of WordPress and Magento powering the Adobe Flash front end, it was a struggle to get all parties to play nice.
